Canadian Firearms Safety

Training

Fort Nelson, BC

NEXT COURSE April 19/20
(Testing April 21) - 2024

Firearms Safety Training at its finest!

Instructor Brady Wells hosts a weekend of entertaining hands-on instruction of most firearm action types and their applicable ammunition.

This is the required course if you are interested in obtaining a license to purchase and carry a firearm (ie rifle or shotgun) or acquire a restricted firearm (primarily handguns) for use at the range. This course teaches you to identify and safely handle/store/transport the most common types of firearms you may encounter and vital information on their applicable ammunition and safe use. No experience or prerequisites required!   Ages 12 and up.

Due to participant feedback, we have now wrapped both the non-restricted and restricted courses into one. Now students are able to take both courses on one weekend simultaneously. Due to the content shift we will be running smaller class sizes and strongly encourage you to register early to reserve your spot.

You'll be engaged in 12 hours of instruction:

Friday 5-9pm

Saturday 9am-6pm

Testing will be on Sunday, your commitment will be approximately 30 minutes.  Due to the fluctuating student numbers, timing will be established at the course.

>>>>>[HOW TO REGISTER]<<<<<

Frequently

Asked

questions

Q: WOW that's some course. They're $150-170 anywhere else. What's the difference???

A: The cost is for both courses.  Our student feedback in the Fort Nelson area determined that our current delivery method would be the most efficient for both instructor & students to offer it this way only.

Q: I don’t want my restricted! Do have to take the restricted? When will you offer it with the non-restricted only?

A: Typically, only about 10-15% of students want the restricted at the start of the course. By the end, the desire grows to ~80%, but it doesn't always work out for the students to dedicate another weekend to it. We've combined the courses to eliminate the scheduling headaches for our students. If at the end of the course, you’ve maintained you do not want the restricted component, you can simply opt out of the exams. We will no longer be offering the Non-restricted only.

Q: I already have my non-restricted. Can I just show up and take the restricted part of this course?

A: Yes and no… With our new format you’re able to sign up for both portions and get your restricted certification. Unfortunately we’re not able to reduce the course cost or time required; this is determined by the Canadian Firearms Center.

Q:  What about hunting?  I would like to get my BC hunting license as well

A:  Please see our Conservation & Outdoor Recreation Education (CORE) page for more details.

Q:  I signed up, but I need to cancel!

A:  We understand things come up!  You can cancel for a full refund up until the week leading up to the course (Typically Sunday).  After that, I can refund only if I'm able to find someone else to take your spot in the course.  Thank you for understanding!
